Major gains in productivity with Active Speed Control
A major milestone on the road toward autonomous machines is presented by TRUMPF in the recent Euroblech. The company is well ahead of the curve when it comes to investing in digitally connected, autonomous factories. This new feature, Active Speed Control, looks straight through the nozzle right at the cutting zone, monitoring it in real-time and autonomously controlling the feed rate of solid-state laser machines. This new function ensures a more reliable process for both flame and fusion cutting, reducing scrap and saving on rework.

The smart future of metalworking
Digitalisation and networking are rapidly gaining ground in metalworking – and the same trend is also taking place in storage & sawing technologies. Manual and mutually-isolated processes are increasingly giving way to a continuously-controlled, intelligent material flow, in which all the components involved communicate autonomously with each other. In modern metalworking, machines, plants, goods and load carriers are connected via Internet of Things. More...
